For the return of the historic People’s Poetry Gathering, ELA teams up with the Center for Traditional Music and Dance for an afternoon of multilingual song and poetry celebrating NYC at Poets House in lower Manhattan. Hosted by ELA co-director Ross Perlin, featuring Kuranko bard Kewulay Kamara, Tibetan poet Tsering Gyaltso and longtime ELA collaborator Nawang Gurung, and Venezuelan llanera singers Luis “El Cacique” Garcia and Mafer Bandola, as well as Garifuna artist Luz Solis and Kichwa artist Soledad Chango. (Sunbul Nuristani will not appear.)
